McCain: Gimmicks First

A response to all you conservatives making fools of yourselves defending the ridiculous pick of Palin by McCain.

First off: Dave Beard, you say: Alaska is the same size as Delaware, so Palin is equal to Biden.   Except for the fact that Biden has 26 years as Senator and she is just shy of two years as governor.  And reports now are that during her gig as Mayor most of the actual work of running this small city was turned over to an administrator.

The Second lie: She's a maverick, not from Washington.  Actually, Sarah Palin got almost $27 million in federal earmarks while mayor of Wasilla, a town of 6000 people. Palin ran a Stevens 527 group, you know, Stevens, the guy that under Federal indictment right now.  While Mayor of Wasilla she increased spending 33%  and increased taxes 38%.  I guess she is a little different from normal republicans, they would have increased spending and CUT taxes.

Do you people really think this lady is ready to lead this country?  Do you really want this lady backing up a 72 year old, two time cancer survivor.  Do you really think this is putting "Country First".  Or do you think this is John McCain bowing to pressure from the religious right.  The Dems would be in much more trouble with Lieberman or Ridge, those two are far better picks, and I would be plenty worried if he picked either of those two.  But McCain, the maverick that he is, acquiesced to the pressures of the religious right or "base" and this is what we got, a woman who was not properly vetted, and who is not ready to lead.

Furthermore, this has nothing to do with gender and everything to do with judgment.  He made a rush decision, without all the facts and he made a goofy pick.  This shows America that McCain has bad judgment.

Oh, by the way.. Obama is now over 50% in the daily tracking polls for the first time, he actually at 51% now
