Is your computer a slow piece of crap? Have your teenagers completely ruined it by filling it full of illegal music and questionable porn? Well, after your done watching the porn, its time to tune up that PC and get it back into fighting shape. Here are my tricks...
Your gonna need tools, aka software, but more importantly, freeware. Freeware if chosen wisely is free software that can be significantly better than the crap you bought at Best Buy. Yes, that Norton Internet Security software you bought, is total crap, complete overkill and way to complicated. Maybe we should call it Crapware. Here's what you need:
CCleaner : Cleans out all the temp files, junk files ,etc. Its like spring cleaning for Windows. Also run the registry cleaner, it will help window operate a lot better.
SmitFraudFix : Run this in Safe mode, it cleans a lot of the viruses going around right now, very good product.
SD Fix : Similar to SmitFraud in that it looks almost the same and your run it in Safe mode. By the way, this link goes to Major Geeks , a great site full of freeware ans shareware.
Malwarebytes : A great freeware anti-spyware/malware product, its my new favorite.
AVG Free : Uninstall Norton or McAfee and install AVG anti-virus, the free edition. It uses much less memory and processing power than Norton.
Defraggler : A great little defrag utility from the people that make CCleaner. I like to use this at the end. Be sure to ran Ccleaner before run the defrag. No need to organize temp files.
